Food And Hygiene Kits For Migrant Workers

Updated: Mar 31, 2020

The poor in India fear that hunger may kill them before Coronavirus/Covid-19. The lives and livelihood of the daily wage earners have taken a significant hit after the announcement of the national lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the country. Factories, restaurants, construction work and other production activity have stopped, pushing millions of workers to the brink of hunger and homelessness. While multinational and corporate workers have the option to work from home, these daily wagers are out of work and are left penniless due to their reliance on daily work.

As scores of migrant workers move back to villages after losing their livelihood due to the ongoing lockdown, because of lack of basic resources Food for all has become the biggest problem because of the current lockdown situation across the world and especially in India. We are trying our bit to solve this and need your support. We are providing migrant workers with food and basic hygiene kit and even helping in providing them with temporary shelters , so that they can fight this virus with us and help in not spreading of the disease.

We need to do this as a team and in that way require your help, you can help us by donation starting 50 rupees , which is cost of a meal for one. We as a country need to come forward to

help our countrymen.

The fund aims to provide kits for 5000 families.

- Each kit will contain wheat flour, rice and pulses and three soaps costing

- The kits will be distributed to 5000 migrant families

While most of the urban rich are cooped at homes, the daily wage laborers are struggling to make ends meet. Your contribution can bridge the gap between having food to eat and going hungry at the end of the day. Food and hygiene kits can greatly help these children and families. These kits will ensure that they get support till the lockdown ends and they can resume work.

The cost of one restaurant meal for you can be enough for these workers to feed their families for the whole month. We might have a solution for the virus but if we don’t step up now, the world will remember us as a country who forgot their poor during times of crisis. Please come forward and help the poor and this country in fighting these tough times!
